When the proper amount of Scattered Compass symbols appear on the spinning reel, gamers are taken to a different screen.  This gaming screen contains a large treasure map with X’s all over it.  The upper left corner of the map reads, “Treasure Bonus.  Seek Your Fortune.”  The lower left corner depicts a Scull and next to the Scull reads, “End of Feature.”  In between the two left corners is a large red Log Book.  The lower right corner contains an empty and opened Compass.  It is difficult to know what to do when entering this screen as there are no directions.  The goal of the Treasure Bonus isn’t only ambiguously outlined; it is not outlined at all. 

However, the goal is to click on the X’s on the treasure map.  After each click, a coin amount or Scull will be revealed.  If there is a coin amount, the player gets to keep clicking on additional X’s and the total coin amount increases in the lower right corner Compass.  If however, a Scull is revealed, then the bonus feature is over and players return to the game.  Yet, before the player returns to the game, the red Log Book opens to reveal an additional winning coin amount that is called an Extra Bonus.

The symbols in Age of Discovery are just as confusing as the Treasure Bonus.  A Gold Coin serves as the wild card substitute symbol.  The Gold Coin substitutes for all of the other symbols with the exception of the Bonus Compass symbol and the Scattered Dragon symbol.  The Scattered Dragon symbol appears to be a dragon from the ancient Orient floating on water.  This symbol really does not at all fit in with the theme of the game.  The other gaming symbols include:  a Pirate Ship; some type of Card Plaque; a Map; and, five different indecipherable types of fruit.  It is impossible to tell what types of fruit these symbols are.  Additionally, one of the higher paying symbols, the Card Plaque thing, is also indeterminable.

Two positive aspects to Age of Discovery are the facts that the gaming screen is extremely straightforward and the game itself is simple to play.  Along the bottom of the gaming screen contains all of the game directives.  From monetary information to Line Selections to Spin, all of the directives are clearly laid out for gamers to use.  The game is very easy to play.  All players need to do is select their wager, line, and coin amounts and then click on Spin.  Players can also utilize the Auto Play feature and select the number of auto spins they want.

While Age of Discovery is a simple game to play and easy to navigate, it can seriously bore players while they lose their money.  Uninteresting and quite drab, the gaming experience may not be that pleasurable.
